Building Community, One Connection At A Time

On October 28, 2024 I arrived in Port Elgin to take over the operation of Cedarvale Wellbeing. Nine months in and I can say without hesitation - it has been a RIDE! I'm not sure what I thought this journey would look like – perhaps I didn't think much at all before committing to the move from Toronto. Working as a life coach and creating wellness retreats, I knew I was tired of city living and had skills I wasn't maximizing. The beautiful setting in nature, the wellness studio and the hot/cold contrast therapy facilities here at Cedarvale were everything I could have hoped for.
The experience has been full of joy and gratitute, mixed with a little splash of 'WTF was I thinking?'. It's a big undertaking and I needed help from the start. So many people have supported me along the way and I'm grateful to them all. This past winter was definitely more than I bargained for. I don't think I've worked so much in my life, but I've also received more satisfaction than any other profession I've been in, and I've had a few careers over the years.
Today we have a great team of facilitators who are delivering amazing classes, including gentle and Buti yoga, breathwork and deep fascial release. We've hosted several day retreats on topics such as Mastering Menopause and Inner Child Healing. The studio is also available to those who wish to rent the space for their own wellness retreats and practices.
We hosted our first overnight retreat in early June, Journey to Self , which was life-changing medicine journey coupled with contrast therapy, breathwork, coaching and astrology integrations. We are hosting another September 20 - 21 for those interested in deep, introspection and healing.

I continue to offer my life coaching services in person and online and I love working 1:1 with people. We also host many private groups at Cedarvale and customize each experience the the interests and demographics of the client.
We have a beautiful and popular rental suite for those looking for solitude, grounding and a forest setting.
And there's the Contrast Cafe, a very simple, yet inviting outdoor gathering place where guests can enjoy the beauty of the property while sipping a coffee, protein shake or a specialty electrolyte boost.
I'm proud of what we've built here and grateful to Wes, Katy and Lora for all they did to create Cedarvale Wellbeing. My goal is simple: to continue to build a beautiful community of like-minded people interested in mental, emotional, physical and spiritual wellbeing and growth. And, perhaps most importantly HAVE FUN along the way. We need face-to-face communication and bonding in this every-increasing world of technology. Nothing can ever take the place of heart-to-heart connection, looking into the eyes of another.
